Job Description
The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team owns Amazons asin sortation strategy delivering technologies that improve Amazons cost to serve.
The MSP finance team is seeking an analytical driven and creative finance leader to support the Sortation Automation Organization which designs and implements asin sortation automation solutions for Amazon Operations. This position will partner with business teams to design and implement solutions to scale the program across new platforms networks and products while ensuring the financial controls are in place to measure the end-to-end impact on Amazons cost to serve.
When not dedicated to forecasting or monthly financial reporting activities this role spends their time looking for opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy financial controls data quality and cost modeling. This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys influencing both strategy and tactical execution and has a passion for innovation and scale.
To be successful in this role the incumbent will need excellent communication skills strong ownership and the ability to work with complex data sets to build financial analyses that will be used to inform MSPs strategy and drive engagement across cross-functional stakeholders. This position comes with executive-level visibility and experience on this team can open up several career opportunities across Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
- Partnering with senior leaders in Worldwide Operations and WW Ops Finance.
- Creating improving and maintaining financial analysis (ROI and NPV models) driving operational decisions across WW Operations Fulfillment network.
- Gathering analytical insights and developing financial frameworks to help grow profitability and expand our reach in global environment.
- Driving the core financial processes for the business including Annual Operating Plans 3 year Strategic Plan Long Range Plan and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Completing cost / benefit analyses and communicate key drivers / inputs to support business decisions.
- Performing financial reporting deep project analyses and financial modeling.
- Facilitating financial review meetings with business groups and working with business managers to ensure effective finance and cost management.
- Creating improving and maintaining financial metrics reports and scorecards.
- Communicating financial and business results including variance analyses to senior business leaders.
- Leading strategic projects.
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science)
- 5 years of finance experience or Masters degree and 3 years of finance experience
- MBA
- 6 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
