The Mobility Division of King County Metro is seeking an experienced collaborative and customer-focusedDistribution Warehouse Coordinator.

Join us in shaping the future of transit customer service. As part of theCustomer Communications & Services (CCS) section the Distribution Warehouse Coordinator will lead operations within the transit information distribution warehouse.

The Distribution Warehouse Coordinator will be responsible for operating the transit information distribution warehouse and preparing materials for distribution to Transit facilities and vendors. The work involves receiving and maintaining inventories of timetables brochures fare media and other materials. Other duties may include temporary duty worker training and oversight receipt of goods general office coordination warehouse organization forklift operation and other duties as assigned that help support the Service Information Team. This position may be asked to provide backfill support for other team members via established processes.

TheService Information (SI) Team is responsible for developing producing and distributing visual assets to convey information about the services Metro provides. These visual assets include rider alerts bus timetables stop schedule posters bus system maps transit center wayfinding bus stop signage and a host of other projects and materials that support public transit.

The Service Information Team located within Metros Customer Communications & Services (CCS section provides customers with information to access the full potential of Metros transportation choices and options for paying their fares. This section is responsible for fostering continuous improvement in developing an executive strategy for communicating and interfacing with customers and for growing new customers.

This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) Career addition this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future Career Service Special Duty Assignment and Term Limited Temporary vacancies that may occur in this classification within this workgroup. The eligibility pool will be retained for 12 months from the date of posting and may be used at the discretion of the hiring
authority.

Job Duties

As aDistribution Warehouse Coordinator you will:

  • Coordinate and execute the receiving of timetables transfers and marketing materials into the warehouse from printing vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of stocked warehouse materials.
  • Support SI staff with scheduling installers temp workers van rentals and preparing timetables for Metro customers ahead of Metro service changes.
  • Act as point of contact for the distribution warehouse vendors Metro staff and delivery customers.
  • Inspect equipment and contact appropriate personnel if the equipment requires maintenance.
  • Distribute printed materials and information to transit and community locations.
  • Ensure distribution locations are stocked and maintained with necessary materials and equipment.
  • Pull and assemble timetable orders daily using automated timetable racking system.
  • Assist and report up to leads and/or Service Information Chief regarding Service Change readiness and business conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills

Minimum Qualifications

Werelooking for someone who brings:

  • Knowledge of warehousing distribution and automated inventory management systems.

  • Understanding of workplace safety practices including safe lifting/moving procedures and hazard prevention.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

  • Proficiency in mathematics Microsoft Office Suite and other business/warehouse software applications.

  • Skilled in operating forklifts warehouse tools and related equipment.

  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively with flexibility to cover weekdays evenings weekends and holidays.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in supply chain inventory management and distribution operations.

  • Familiarity with Metro and Service Information products and services.

  • Knowledge of procurement practices and vendor/contract management.

  • Strong skills in process documentation coordination and advocating for process improvements.

  • Background working with operators and operations teams.

  • Proficiency with collaboration tools such as SharePoint OneDrive and online meeting platforms (Teams Zoom Google Meet GoToMeeting).

  • Skilled in training document editing/proofing and creating materials using Adobe InDesign Illustrator or similar software.

Special Requirements

  • Valid Washington State Drivers License before hire
  • Forklift certification within 90 days of hire

Work Schedule:
This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and overtime eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule every other Thursday. Work hours are comprised of a 40-hour workweek within core hours of workday normally 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. as business needs require Monday through Friday.

Work Location:
The work associated with this position will be onsite work. The office location is at the Distribution Warehouse (1523 6th Ave S Seattle WA). Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance of their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements
