JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join the GD team as Secure Production Operator III in our secure Bolingbrook IL facility on 1st shift working Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm. This role involves handling sensitive materials and operating complex machinery for the production of high-security items.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operate and maintain the machine ensuring high-quality production of secure product.
- Follow strict security protocols to handle sensitive materials and personal data.
- Perform routine machine checks and maintenance to ensure optimal operation and identify any issues.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to uphold product standards and identify any defects.
- Document production processes and maintain accurate records of materials used and products produced.
- Assist in troubleshooting machine issues and coordinate with technical support for complex problems.
- Access daily work files from the workstations on the production floor.
- Help in delivering the correct materials to each workstation in order to meet production goals for the shift.
- Monitor inventory levels of materials required to complete jobs and alert manager if stock is not adequate for the days production.
- Run daily production as trained and directed for highly secure personalization or mailing machines.
- Perform basic data entry into Excel as needed.
- Relay issues and concerns to Operations Manager for HSA department.
- Keep work area organized and clean.
- Follow and comply with policies procedures processes and general company information.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies at all times.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of three years of experience operating advanced machinery.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues.
- Advanced understanding of the production process and quality standards.
- Ability to mentor and provide guidance to level one operators.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic mechanical skills and ability to operate machinery.
- Must be willing to stand for the majority of the work day.
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
- Reason through problems involving set-up and operation.
- Ability to pass background check and drug test.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Fast-paced production floor requiring prolonged periods of standing and operation of machinery.
- Regular exposure to machinery noise; ear protection may be required.
- Requires working on hard floor regularly standing walking bending squatting twisting and stooping.
- Requires the ability to lift 15 pounds with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Regular and consistent attendance including overtime whether on a voluntary or mandatory basis.
- Requires visual acuity to operate a computer read a computer screen read policies and manuals.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer phone fax scanner.
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00 per hour and is eligible for an annual bonus.
