Role/ Department:

FX Currency Management Senior Analyst

Northern Trusts Currency Management group provides clients with currency hedging protection and volatility reduction relative to the FX exposure of their foreign assets. Join an established global team where you will be responsible for managing risk on behalf of our clients across a range of strategies and investment mandates. This will require being a trusted point of contact and expertise for both internal and external stakeholders as well as working collaboratively with supporting teams and the trading desks to implement our solutions and achieve optimal outcomes.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

The analyst will support their senior partners and other team members in all aspects of the day to day duties of the currency management business with the dual goals of minimizing operational risk and delivering on currency hedging objectives for our clients. As you gain experience you will take responsibility for individual accounts and have increased client interaction.

  • Assist in the daily management of clients currency hedging portfolios
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance
  • Take initiative to drive the improvement of internal processes working together with our global teams to identify and develop efficiencies
  • Support the client servicing efforts with preparation of client presentation materials and reporting packages

Skills/ Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Highly analytical mindset
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail producing high quality work with a high degree of accuracy while operating under time sensitive deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) you are able to work as part of a team as well as taking initiative to work independently on behalf of the team
  • An interest in financial markets with a desire to learn more
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment involving intra-day deadlines.
  • Coding knowledge desired
  • Currency management or FX experience desired
  • High degree of integrity
  • Priority management
  • Organized
  • Analytical thinker with good attention to detail
  • Constructive team worker with positive communication skills
