About the Role:
At Next we have a great opportunity for a Chef to join our busy catering team at our Head Office in Chef will work in a busy kitchen producing high quality food using fresh produce daily catering for 1200 covers. You will work as part of a team with a brigade of 7 chefs and also under your own initiative.
You will:
- Ensure that all food is produced within EHO food safety guidelines
- Ensure the menu is produced to a high standard on time for service.
- Participate in a positive approach to health & safety.
- Use stock in rotation; report any quality issues to the Head chef.
- Maintain cleanliness of your work area & complete cleaning rotas at the end of each shift
- Be flexible when the kitchen is under increased pressure.
- Able to work on multi stations on a rota basis.
- Bring new ideas and passion and creative flair to the food production.
- Follow all recipes and adhere to allergen control at all times.
- Keep up to date with changing food trends.
- Communicate relevant information to colleagues and customers.
- Communicate easily & appropriately to managers.
About You:
- Hold a recognised catering qualification e.g City & GuildsNVQ or relevant work experience
- Hold a food hygiene certificate
- Proven experience of working in the food industry
- Minimum of 2 years catering experience
- Pro-active and self-motivated
- Ability to use initiative
- Calm under pressure
- Excellent organisational and time keeping skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work on own initiative as necessary
- Able to keep accurate records
