Job Description

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidates expertise and years of experience among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: RN - Pre-Procedure Services
  • Location: 4901 Searle Pkwy Skokie IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: FT: 40hrs/week
  • Hours: Monday-Friday Days 8a-4:30p
  • Required Travel: Minimal


A Brief Overview:
The Pre-Procedure Services Nurse will contact patients scheduled for outpatient surgical procedures via telephone prior to appointment. The interview will discuss pre-anesthetic evaluations provide patient education and ensure all pre-surgical testing is completed and received by the day of the scheduled surgery. The nurse work effectively with all levels of the organization including Admitting Anesthesia Operating Room Physicians Physicians office staff Information Systems and Laboratory.

What you will need:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Required; BSN preferred
  • AHA BLS/CPR - American Heart Association (AHA) Required
  • 2 Years of professional nursing experience required
  • Previous Pre-Admission Testing experience preferred
  • Epic proficiency preferred
  • Works independently and demonstrates initiative to resolve issues

  • Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
  • Integrates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
  • Recognizes and adjusts to situations that vary from the norm.
  • Promotes safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
  • Enhances own professional growth and development.
  • Maintains a safe therapeutic working environment and recognizes need for action in emergency situations.
  • Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed
  • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
  • Conducts thorough assessments of patients scheduled for surgical or invasive procedures to evaluate their physical and emotional readiness.
  • Reviews patients medical histories including pre-existing conditions allergies medications and previous surgeries to identify potential complications and risks.
  • Provide patients and families with detailed information about the upcoming procedure what to expect preoperative instructions.
  • Work closely with MD offices anesthesia providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
