Job Schedule: Mon-Fri 40-hours/week *Extended hours and/or weekend as needed on occasion.
Job Location: Downtown Houston TX *Candidates wanting to be considered for the role MUST LIVE IN HOUSTON AREA.
Pay Rate: $58-$60/hour
The Sr. IT Manager role manages IT staff and oversees the planning and implementation of IT projects and permanent programs for both Helpdesk Support and Business Applications Development. The Sr. IT Manager is responsible for monitoring the efficiency and performance of Housing & Community Development technology and network systems overseeing technology infrastructure and operations and ensuring operational support functions run smoothly. This position is responsible for maintaining partnerships with department staff and leadership contracted vendors and fellow Operations directors of Human Resources Marketing and Records Management. Additionally the Sr. IT Manager manages budget expenditures and contracts reviews and recommends support to the Chief Operating Officer and leading software and equipment solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversight of leadership of IT support services team and internal customer service technology programs as well as the departments IT infrastructure including servers networks hardware and software applications.
- Ensure assets are properly procured to meet local state and federal guidelines.
- Monitor service ticket levels and trends.
- Advocates for technology needs and initiatives.
- Delivers excellent Customer Service.
- Key point for escalations troubleshooting general IT support and policy and procedure developments.
- Provide recommendations for improvements in process and technology to senior leadership.
- Serves as the point of contact for all projects which involves communicating and presenting to project stakeholders executive management and other key project personnel to provide regular updates on project status and arising issues.
- Knowledge of Non-Technical Project Management.
- Researches and provides reports to leadership on opportunities to develop process improvements.
- Initiates internal IT initiatives and special projects such as SharePoint website and intranet secure printing and regular trainings and job aids with consideration to the customer first.
- Develops implementation and communication plans project estimates project schedules and resource allocation.
- Collects data and records development.
- Manage data analysis and reporting environment including evaluating and recommending appropriate tools and technologies.
- Ensure that HCD data infrastructure and systems remain safe and optimized for analytics and data sharing.
- Manage internal development team and relationship with case management application vendor CaseWorthy including project schedules and budget deadlines.
- Management and Compliance.
- Monitor budgeting spending activities and purchase orders to ensure technology expenses are correctly anticipated and accounted for.
- Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements and best practices and proposes policy for department around updated quality standards.

Required Education/Experience
- Bachelors Degree in IT Computer Science Business MIS Change Management or relevant field.
- Five (5) years of progressive work experience in IT environment.
- Two (2) years of management experience.
- Experience with service desk systems business applications.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office environment where the use of computers phones scanners and filing cabinets is routine. The physical demands associated with this job are minimal with occasional lifting and moving of objects. The role is predominantly sedentary involving mainly sitting with occasional standing and walking.
