Job Description
Location: Houston TX
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive youth ministry program for students in grades 6-12 with a focus on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all youth.
- Build relationships with students and their families providing guidance support and spiritual mentorship.
- Lead weekly youth group meetings and coordinate regular events and activities that foster spiritual growth community and fun.
- Plan and facilitate relevant and engaging Bible studies discussions and lessons that connect with the lives and experiences of youth.
- Work with the church leadership team to develop and implement strategies for outreach and evangelism to reach and engage youth in the surrounding community.
- Recruit train and support volunteer leaders to assist in the youth ministry program.
- Partner with parents and families to support and disciple youth in their faith journey.
- Attend staff and ministry team meetings as well as conferences and training to continue personal growth and development.
- Collaborate with other ministries within the church to create a cohesive and integrated approach to spiritual formation and service.
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in theology ministry or a related field (Master s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in youth ministry with a proven track record of effectively leading and engaging youth.
- Strong understanding of biblical principles and a passion for sharing and teaching the Word of God with youth.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to connect with and relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to work well within a team.
- A heart for mentorship and discipleship with a desire to see youth grow in their relationship with Christ.
- Must pass a background check and adhere to the standards and values of Houston Graduate School of Theology.
