Job Description
Food Preparer C ( Cook )-Mount Sinai Hospital
Prepares cooks and dispenses food in accordance with specifications quality standards and sanitary regulations. Assigns work to Cooks and Cooks Helpers. Maintains par level and delivers food entrees to Cafeteria steam-table assist cooking supervisors as required.
Responsibilities
- Washes chops slices weighs measures and mixes ingredients and prepares individual portions in accordance with specifications and cooking instructions.
- Cooks food as assigned following detailed recipes and procedures. Uses all appropriate cooking equipment such as gas ovens ranges fryers and various utensils.
- Assigns a variety of meal preparation tasks to Cooks Helper such as washing slicing and mixing ingredients panning and seasoning foods.
- Maintains cleanliness safety and general appearance of cooking stations. Cleans work tables and utensils.
- Performs above duties at all cooking stations on rotation basis assists in cold food preparation.
- Makes recommendations to supervisor regarding status of Baker and Bakers Helper.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.

Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $27.67 - $30.01 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience education and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
