Job Description

Nurse Manager - Family Centered Unit (Labor & Delivery/Mother-Baby) - Massachusetts

A respected healthcare organization is seeking a strategic and compassionate Nurse Manager for the Family Centered Unit overseeing Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby services. This role will provide focused clinical and operational leadership to ensure high-quality patient-centered maternal-child care. The Nurse Manager will drive unit performance regulatory compliance and team engagement through collaborative leadership and continuous quality improvement. The ideal candidate is an experienced nursing leader with a strong background in perinatal care a commitment to staff development and a passion for fostering resilient empowered teams.

Job Highlights:

  • Lead 24/7 operations of Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby units ensuring patient-centered care
  • Drive clinical quality improvement and regulatory readiness including Joint Commission compliance
  • Manage staffing budgeting and workflow optimization in a unionized setting
  • Recruit mentor and develop nursing staff to foster a resilient engaged team culture
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support professional development initiatives

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts RN license and BCLS certification (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required); Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role preferably in L&D or Mother-Baby
  • Experience managing staff in a unionized healthcare environment preferred
  • Strong communication leadership and operational skills
