Job Summary:
This Phlebotomist position requires a minimum of two years of experience and involves collecting blood samples in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. The role may require travel between two locations (Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach) and includes on-call responsibilities and weekend work exceeding every other weekend. Experience in a trauma center and familiarity with EPIC/handheld Rover devices are preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Collecting blood samples from patients.
- Adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Communicating effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Potentially assisting with other clinical lab tasks as needed.
- Floating between Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach locations.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum two years of phlebotomy experience.
- Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.
- Current CPR certification (AHA BLS).
- Ability to work weekends (minimum every other likely exceeding).
- Willingness to work on-call.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid drivers license car insurance and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in a trauma center.
- Experience using EPIC and handheld Rover devices.
Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities are required.
- Floating between Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach locations is required.
- Weekend work will exceed every other weekend to meet department needs.
- Block scheduling may be considered at the managers discretion.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
- RTO (return to office) must be included at the time of submission.
- The facility may call off once per two-week pay period.
Scheduling:
- Shift times are not specified but the schedule may vary.
- Weekend work is required and will likely exceed every other weekend.
- Shift assignments and scheduling are determined by the manager.
