Fort Lauderdale Hotel

Opening in Fall 2025 Omni Fort Lauderdale will provide South Florida with 120000 square feet of event space new food and beverage options a Natural Spring inspired full-service spa and entertainment pedestrian plaza featuring high-end shopping amphitheater charter boat docking and beautiful promenade. The new iconic landmark offers unforgettable views of the Atlantic paired with unrivalled convenience and intelligently designed meeting spaces. The hotel will be directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center immediately adjacent to Port Everglades cruise terminal and less than two miles from Fort Lauderdale Airport.

Job Description

Be a part of the pre-opening team for theOmni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel!

Opening Fall 2025 theOmni Ft. Lauderdale Hotelis a 29-story hotel located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites multiple restaurants a vibrant rooftop bar a sprawling pool spa and fitness center. The hotel will also have over 120000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space including a grand ballroom junior ballroom 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.

Assist with the proper training and supervision of all In Room Dining personnel to ensure delivery of prompt courteous service in a manner that complies with Omni Food and Beverage standards and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor all tray and table set ups being sure all products are well presented to the guest. Linen china and silver must be spotless. Food must be properly garnished and fresh looking. Warm food must be kept warm cold beverages must be served adequately chilled.
  • Ensure deliveries must be made by time quoted to guest and must be delivered by properly uniformed well groomed In Room Dining Servers.
  • Ensure tray and table retrievals are made either within a reasonable amount of time after delivery or upon guest request.
  • Check to be sure that all Servers and Servers are doing assigned prep work at beginning of shift as well as side work at end of shift.
  • Assist with scheduling as assigned by In Room Dining Manager.
  • Conduct MOS audits on associates on on-going basis.
  • Handle guest comments and complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate with guests and receive feedback.
  • Observe teach and correct staffs service.
  • Monitor each guest experience and Medallia results.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other departments and outlets.
  • Offer help to other outlets and departments when available or needed.
  • Solve problems between departments through discussion with appropriate department heads.
  • Encourage courtesy of all Room Service staff toward all other personnel.
  • Assist manager in; scheduling completing weekly payroll and forecasting both weekly and monthly.
  • Participate in interviewing new employees as needed.
  • Prepare maintenance request and follow-up.
  • Monitor food and liquor requisitions and food waste.
  • Check bar controls shot glass use red lining and bottles totally empty daily.
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of experience in Food and Beverage Supervision or Management role preferred.
  • Must have the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Understanding of Food and Beverage financials including cost and par controls is preferred.
  • Highly motivated self starter focused on quality organization guest service and teamwork.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency; specifically with Microsoft Office and Windows. Micros experience is preferred.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced high pressure work environment while executing delegated tasks and assignments.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively train coach and exercise supervisorial courage.
  • Proven leadership skills which support an environment of employee growth and development interdepartmental teamwork and exceptional customer service.
  • Driven leader with the ability to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed.
  • The ability to lead staff line-ups assigned by the Outlets Manager and/or F&B Director.
  • Must be Food Handler and TABC certified.
  • Maintain a professional business appearance attitude and performance.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:

  • Move bend lift carry push pull and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance. Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires repetitive motion. May work both indoors and outdoors.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

  • Desktop computer (Opera GoConcierge Synergy Microsoft Office Kronos Birchstreet Micros terminals) printer telephone copier fax machine and push to talk radio dispatch.
