About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic in our Aviation Division located in Chesterfield Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
Perform necessary repairs and maintenance on Department aircraft including but not limited to periodic inspections annual inspections 50-hour 100-hour and 150-hour services.
Perform inspections and trouble shooting.
Collaborate and communicate with the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor to maintain high standards of maintenance and safety.
Maintains aircraft records and instructions for continued airworthiness manuals.
Maintains the aircraft work stations including all tools equipment and spare parts to assure proper supplies are available.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge:
Of aircraft systems and relevant equipment and procedures.
Skills:
In use of aircraft mechanic tools.
Abilities:
To diagnose maintenance problems.
To assist in performance of inspections as prescribed by FAA and manufacturer.
To maintain records and logs.
To interpret and follow oral and written instructions.
To perform maintenance and repair in a professional manner.
FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required.
No FAA license suspensions in the past five years.
Rotorcraft experience required.
Training in aircraft repair and moderate experience in maintenance of airplanes and helicopters.
Successful applicant may be required to execute up to a 60-month written agreement should additional factory schools need to be completed.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
