During major sales events such as Black Friday Sale and Prime Day Sale we experience our highest annual shipping volumes making planning accuracy during these periods increasingly response to this we have established a specialized team dedicated to managing sales events.
In this position you will be responsible for developing and improving processes for middle-mile truck route planning within Amazons transportation network specifically focusing on peak (sales event) periods. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders (including Business Planning Finance and Operations teams) as well as external partners such as transportation companies and 3PL providers.

Key job responsibilities Execution and Process Development for Route Planning (40%) - Route planning involves determining the number of trucks and scheduling based on volume forecast data and placing orders with transportation companies - Review and modify existing route planning processes to address sale-specific challenges - Lead the development and implementation of new systems and processes - Escalate issues to other departments when necessary and drive resolution
Sales Event Strategy Development (30%) - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop strategies for sales events - Create comprehensive plans for truck procurement including ordering timelines and pricing strategies to ensure sufficient middle-mile transportation capacity - Document strategic impact and costs reporting to Business Strategy and Finance teams
Data Analysis (30%) - Evaluate the effectiveness of team strategies through independent data analysis - Identify new challenges through in-depth analysis - Lead improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy for sales events
