APPLE INC has the following available in Austin Texas. Responsible for simulation design and integration of antennas for mobile communication devices. Design antennas for wireless handheld devices with excellent radiation performance including TRP TIS SAR and EMC. Work closely with RF EMC Electrical and mechanical engineers as well as industrial designers and other cross functional teams to integrate the antenna design into wireless products. Use simulation tools for optimizing the antenna designs as well as understanding the antenna performance sensitivity to different parts of the system. Use simulation and measurement tools to understand how other system parameters impact wireless performance. Lead antenna manufacturing guide vendors through all the process for bringing up tools to help mass produce the antenna parts. Perform radiation performance measurements create test plans execute them publish test reports and provide feedback to other system level design engineers. Lead antenna assembly at factory and design production test plans and requirements to guarantee product quality. International Travel required 15%. 40 hours/week.
Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Education and/or experience must include:
Using HFSS to demonstrate proficiency with EM simulator software.
Using Network analyzer spectral analyzer or power meter to demonstrate understanding of real worlds EM measurements.
Using Matlab to manipulate data and process datasets into understandable plots.
Applying EM or Antenna theory to solve technical problems.
Applying RF system architecture or Antenna design to contribute to the product design.
Experience accurately manually reworking or modifying test boards antenna mockups and other system components via soldering and/or machining.
Developing hypothesis and creating experiment plans to test hypothesis.
Experience with general circuit design and computer architecture to analyze how RF may impact system performance.
