Short Description
A medical interpreter is a professional who provides interpretation and translation services for patients who speak limited English and healthcare staff. They are responsible for interpreting medical information accurately and confidentially ensuring that patients understand their medical diagnosis treatment options and other important information. They also provide translations of medical documents such as records and prescriptions.
Experience Required
- 3-5 years experience preferred
Education Requirements
- High School / GED required
License/Certification Requirements
- Certification/Licensure Interpreter/Translator Certificate and/or Certificate of Competency from an approved Interpreter/Translator training program preferred
Special Requirements
- Open to obtaining certification as employee of CUHC.
