This position is located at:

Primary Purpose of Position:

The position provides leadership in accounting services to initiate and administer all accounting systems at Tryon Palace. The position provides accurate and timely data and reports for management and board use in making informed financial and business decisions.


Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare financial statements applying complex federal and state fiscal regulations.
  • Design and prepare custom reports for multiple stakeholders i.e. management state boards.
  • Analyze and present financial data to Finance and Executive Committees.
  • Train Branch Heads and staff on financial and budget management aspects of their positions.
  • Prepare worksheets spreadsheets reconciliations and supporting data for separate annual independent audits for the Tryon Palace Commission Tryon Palace Stores and the Tryon Palace Foundation.
  • Assist management with recording and tracking state funded expenditures.
  • Assist in the annual budget process providing calculations and projections for funding sources and expenditure requirements.

Position/Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work Monday Friday 8AM 5PM.
  • Must be able to work some evening weekend and holiday work as required.

Associates degree in Accounting from an appropriately accredited institution
AND
one year of accounting experience;
OR
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma
AND
three years of experience in accounting work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Veterans and National Guard Preference
