Job Summary:
The Asset Management Technician supports the companys efforts to optimize the lifecycle performance of water and wastewater infrastructure assets. This position is responsible for collecting maintaining and analyzing asset data assisting with the implementation of asset management systems and supporting capital planning and risk mitigation strategies. The Technician plays a key role in ensuring asset reliability regulatory compliance and long-term sustainability aligning with the companys operational and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Inventory Management & Project Support
Collect validate update and maintain asset inventory data for water distribution wastewater collection treatment plants and related facilities
Conduct field inspections to verify asset condition location and performance
Support the prioritization of asset replacement and rehabilitation projects
Support process for translating equipment from projects into assets in WACS
Assist with asset condition assessments and risk evaluations
Collaborate with Engineering Operations and Finance teams to align asset data with capital planning and budgeting
Asset Management Software Functional Support
Maintain and update computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and geographic information systems (GIS) with accurate asset data
Functionally support CMMS application (WACS) across enterprise
Participate in ongoing training to stay current with asset management best practices and technologies
Asset Management Program Documentation & Support
Champion asset management program across enterprise
Ensure data accuracy and integrity through consistent documentation and audits
Assist with regulatory reporting requirements related to asset tracking and infrastructure performance
Create update and maintain documentation for asset management-related workflows and processes
Generate reports dashboards and metrics to support decision-making
Qualifications:
Associates degree in Engineering Technology GIS Environmental Science or related field (Bachelors preferred)
2 years of experience in asset management utility operations GIS or CMMS
Experience in water and/or wastewater utility industry preferred
Essential Competencies:
Proficiency with CMMS and GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS)
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and database reporting tools
Familiarity with asset lifecycle planning condition assessment methods and risk scoring models
Valid drivers license and ability to travel to field sites
Strong attention to detail organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

This position is primarily performed in a professional office setting and requires the ability to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. The physical and sensory demands include:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and remaining in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time.
Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment such as printers copiers calculators keyboard mouse and headset.
Frequent visual inspection and review of both hard copy and online documents.
Effective and professional communication over the phone in person and through written and audio correspondence.
Ability to detect discern convey express oneself and exchange information through written verbal and audio communication.
Consistent ability to listen actively speak clearly and respond in real-time to customer or internal inquiries.
Occasional movement within the office and use of stairs to access file cabinets and office machinery.
Occasional lifting or moving of office materials up to 15 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and maintain focus in a structured customer-facing environment.
Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States.
Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen pre-employment physical background check and have a valid drivers license in good standing.
