Overview
My client are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in the construction industry. This role is an exciting opportunity for a professional with expertise in commercial builds apartment projects estimation and quantity surveying. As a Quantity Surveyor you will play a key role in managing costs throughout the lifecycle of construction projects ensuring value for money while maintaining the required standards and quality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse cost estimates for construction projects including apartments and other commercial builds.
- Manage project budgets monitor costs and ensure financial efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects engineers project managers and contractors to assess project requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk analyses for projects.
- Prepare negotiate and analyse tender and contract documents ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Evaluate and process supplier and subcontractor quotations and invoices.
- Oversee the process of cost planning value engineering and cost control.
- Monitor project progress and conduct regular reporting to key stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to contract compliance and financial procedures.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Construction Management or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in commercial building projects or apartment developments.
- Expertise in cost estimation tender preparation and bid evaluations.
- Strong understanding of construction processes materials and legislations.
- Exceptional analytical and numerical skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficient in using construction estimation software and tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic project requirements.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Membership of a recognized professional body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and cost efficiency in green construction.
Day-to-Day
- Begin the day by reviewing and updating project budgets analyzing any overnight updates or changes.
- Liaise with architects and project managers to assess project advancements and any potential budget variances.
- Work on preparing detailed cost plans and tender submission documents.
- Host project status meetings with cross-functional teams to ensure goals are met.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and assess ongoing project expenses.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to negotiate and finalize cost details.
- Prepare cost and valuation reports for senior management and client reviews.
- Investigate cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high construction standards.
