The role & you
As our Electrical Technician youll play a vital role in keeping our water and sewer systems running reliably and efficiently. Your work will span both planned and responsive electrical maintenance troubleshooting and system improvements.
In this role you will:
Specialise in electrical switchboards motors and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
Support the Water Management and Treatment (WMAT) and Water Operations (WOP) teams
Identify and remove limitations or deterioration that affect system performance
Maintain and update data within the planned maintenance system including schedules procedures work history and parts usage
Provide training and guidance to staff on the operation and maintenance of electrical assets
Assist with installations and equipment upgrades
Support and maintain Telemetry SCADA and instrumentation systems
All within a team culture that prioritises safety initiative and continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role youll hold an Electrical Trade Certificate along with a Contractor Licence and/or Qualified Supervisors Certificate (Electrician). Youll bring proven experience as an electrician ideally within the water industry or a related process driven environment. Your technical expertise will include a solid understanding of instrumentation and switchboards large motors variable speed drives (VSDs) high voltage systems PLCs SCADA systems radio telemetry and condition based monitoring. Were looking for a technically skilled professional who is safety focused solutions oriented and thrives in a collaborative team setting.
Salary: Commencing salary circa $74700 p.a. - 82200 p.a. plus superannuation.
Vehicle: A to and from use vehicle (for work purposes only).
Tenure: Full Time Permanent

Location: This position will be based at our Taree Water Services Depot Muldoon Street. However the role will cover our southern area including Bulahdelah Hawks Nest Tea Gardens and Stroud.
