JOB TITLE: Spanish Teacher (part-time 4 mornings/week) REPORTS TO/EVALUATED BY: Chair of Spanish Department; Vice Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 2025-2026 School Year SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To oversee all aspects of classroom instruction to students ABOUT NOTRE DAME CRISTO REY HIGH SCHOOL (NDCR) : NDCR is a private Catholic college prep high school based in Methuen Massachusetts serving 290 economically disadvantaged youth. The school is part of the Cristo Rey Network a growing association of 41 schools across the United States whose education model is built around the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) a unique and highly successful partnership with the business community developed by the Jesuits and expanded nationally by a $21 million investment by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Cassin Educational Initiative Foundation. Through the CWSP each of our students works five full days per month during the academic year at one of 74 companies throughout the Merrimack Valley I-93/495 corridors and southern New Hampshire. Students earn approximately 60% of the cost of their own education. OUR MISSION AND VISION: In the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School (NDCR) provides a Catholic affordable culturally sensitive college preparatory education enhanced by professional work experience for young men and women from families with limited income. NDCR is known for graduating confident academically successful students who are spiritually rooted intellectually curious active community and global citizens and college graduated leaders. OUR CORE VALUES: Goodness of God Education for Life Integrity Respect Family Community RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach two Spanish II classes including the ability to teach native (heritage) Spanish speakers Use developmentally and behaviorally age-appropriate tools materials activities Maintain all pertinent records in PowerSchool Create a safe purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students Design and create appropriate lesson plans. Implement the Spanish Curriculum aligned with the Cristo Rey Standards. Collaborate with other teachers instructional leaders and partners to ensure instructions is meeting the needs of all students Assess students regularly analyze data and determine appropriate next steps for instruction Build relationships and communicate regularly with students and their families to solicit input and share academic progress MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Teachers must possess: Bachelors Degree in Spanish Hispanic Studies Spanish Literature or a similar degree; masters degree preferred Ability to teach native/heritage Spanish speakers Experience teaching Spanish in a Catholic high school strongly preferred Willingness to promote the vision and values of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Knowledgeable sensitive and inclusive of all cultures in particular those served by NDCR If interested please send a thoughtful cover letter and resume to Ms. Mabel Dominguez Vice Principal at
