Location: Oconee County GA
Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour (based on education credentials and experience)
Job Type: Full-Time Monday-Friday Daytime Hours

Our client a licensed privately owned early learning center in Oconee County is looking for a dedicated Cook & Kitchen Leader who will play a vital role in creating a safe healthy and welcoming environment for children. Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve healthy meals/snacks aligned with USDA & CACFP nutritional guidelines
  • Oversee kitchen operations including sanitation menu planning and food safety compliance
  • Maintain inventory order supplies and track costs with fiscal responsibility
  • Supervise and guide kitchen assistants to ensure smooth operations
  • Coordinate with teachers daily to confirm meal counts and special dietary needs
  • Provide flexible support by assisting with light administrative or classroom tasks during non-meal times
  • Maintain a safe clean and organized kitchen environment in line with Georgia DECAL licensing requirements

Required Education & Experience

To be considered for this role within a Georgia-licensed early childhood center candidates must have:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of food service/cooking experience in a licensed childcare center school or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of CACFP guidelines and safe food handling practices
  • ServSafe Certification (preferred or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred or ability to obtain)
