About the Role
We are seeking an Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) Registrar to join our Otolaryngology & Maxillofacial department here at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Start Date:Monday 2 February 2026 or Monday 3 August 2026
As a Registrar you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of inpatients under the guidance of the designated consultant. You will also be involved in the assessment and treatment of patients with acute surgical needs. While this role is not accredited for formal training we are committed to providing training experiences that match or exceed those offered in accredited positions helping to prepare candidates for future formal training opportunities.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The successful candidate will join a team of 2 Registrars and receive full support from 5 ENT Consultants. You will work closely with 1 ENT/Maxillofacial Registrar 1 House Officer and a dedicated team of 6 clinic specialty nurses.
Our close-knit team is well equipped and work collaboratively. We provide a mix of Otology Rhinology and some Head and Neck surgery including a large amount of skin cancer surgery of the head and neck.
Hawkes Bay Hospital is a 400-bed secondary level public hospital in Hastings serving a population of over 180000 people. We offer both acute and elective care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties including paediatrics obstetrics & gynaecology and more. Although we dont provide cardiothoracic and neurosurgery we are supported by a strong regional ICU team ensuring comprehensive care for a diverse patient population.
