High school or equivalent
At least 2 years kitchen cooking and cold dish making experience.
Able to consume all products and ingredients reasonably.
Ability to complete tasks on time in order of priority.
Work well under pressure able to stay calm and solve problems.
Knowledge of food safety systems.

What will I be doing
As theCommis you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Provide guests and staff with efficient and affordable food prepared according to standard recipes and food hygiene standards.
Support the kitchen supervisor in kitchen operations to ensure efficient service delivery.
Plan and prepare to execute high quality food and furnishings in designated restaurants.
Prepare food for guests and staff according to standard recipe cards strictly in accordance with the recipe standard and plating standards.
Operate all equipmentappliancesand machines properly.
Do takeout work or work outside the kitchen when required.
An inventory may be required.
Follow up on staff meal preparation.
Respond to each request to the satisfaction of the guest.
Embrace active learning and appropriate change.
Maintain a professional and positive attitude towards colleagues and supervisors acting in accordance with hotel rules and employee manuals ensuring good departmental operations.
Attend and actively participate in all training sessions.
Understandpracticeand promote the teams working methods at all times to achieve the mission and objectives and the overall standards of the department.
Have a clear understanding of the hotels fire and life safety / emergency procedures.
Master the use of all electrical equipment in the kitchen and observe how to handle them safely and carefully.
Adopt the hotels safety policy.
Perform any other reasonable duties and duties as assigned.
