Position Summary: The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations of the organization. This includes managing the accounting team ensuring accurate financial reporting maintaining internal controls preparing budgets and supporting strategic financial planning. The Controller plays a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and aligning financial practices with organizational goals. The Controller is responsible for upholding implementing and guiding the organization in its values mission and values. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable payroll and general ledger.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP tax regulations and other financial reporting standards.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement and maintain financial systems and software.
- Provide leadership training and development to accounting staff.
- Support strategic initiatives and financial planning efforts.
Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 57 years of progressive accounting experience including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills: - Experience in industry-specific experience e.g. non-profit manufacturing healthcare.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite SAP QuickBooks).
- Strategic mindset with attention to detail.
Physical Requirements: - Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe interact and communicate with youth staff volunteers parents etc. at the Club to ensure safety
