Greenfield Produce Ltd.s success depends on the knowledge experience and motivation of the people who work for us. Reporting to the President the Warehouse Manager for logistics excellence at Greenfield Produce Ltd. This individual will be responsible for defining goals improving processes managing budgets directing resources resolving problems and ensuring supply chain strategies result in cost effective on-time delivery of quality products. This hands-on roll up the sleeves position will be a member of the companys leadership team. The Warehouse Manager creates the vision for the implementation execution maintenance support and continuous improvement of the logistics process and acts as a thought leader by providing analytical insight and perspective to the President.

Some of the tasks of a Warehouse Manager are:
Establish overall direction for strategic supply management creating and implementing a vision for continual improvement of warehousing processes at detail level as well as higher organizational levels.
Participate as a partner on the senior leadership team to fully engage and understand the business strategy and bring the external market place dynamics into the strategy and planning process.
Create accountability for compliance with all business procedures and protocols.
Ensure appropriate continuity plans are in place for critical operations.
Develop design and implement logistics business models to support changing organizational requirements.
Oversee and manage all operational functions of warehouse assigned projects and associated logistics involved in the movement of assets and materials.
Oversee CanadaGAP food safety program (or like 3rd party food safety program) to ensure annual certification.
Ensures standards for product quality equipment and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production.
Coordinate with Purchasing and Operation Teams for inbound freight receiving to ensure continuity of retail store supply chain.
Ensure expectations regarding quality are met and maintained and that policies and procedures regarding quality are followed.
Inspect physical condition of office warehouse and equipment. Recommend repairs or replacement. Direct salvage of damaged or used material / equipment.
Develop monitor and report on operating costs within functional areas. Alert executive management of cost and labor over run. Make recommendations and implements solutions to problems related to same.
Achieve financial objectives through exceptional execution of such things as forecasting; budgeting; cost controls; variance analysis and remediation; inventory management.
Oversee and manage costs and expenditures associated with warehouse products.
Develop and execute strategy to optimize transportation effectiveness including but not limited to modes vendors and contract terms.
Monitor and maintain walk-in cooler optimal temperature range at all times.
Ensure orders are processed according to specifications and quality standards are maintained.
Advise executive management and Human Resources on labor issues including safety security employee relations scheduling training grievances etc.; ensure operations employees are adhering to company policy.
Train develop and appraise warehouse operations employees effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with Human Resources as appropriate.
Provide people leadership focused upon personal and collective accountability while fostering an environment that enhances personal growth and career development through mentoring and training; performance management and challenging the warehouse team to strive for higher performance levels.
Ensure proper asset management and inventory control procedures are followed and remain in compliance with required certifications and processes.
Ensure a strong safety culture and drive reduction of accidents and injuries. Be role model and emphasize the importance of safety.
Keep up-to-date on all WorkSafe BC work safety compliance regulations spearheading Health & Safety and WHMIS awareness within the warehouse.
Qualifications and Requirements for this Position:
Bachelors degree or higher preferred
Experience in a leadership role growing and developing a team
Be proactive a self-starter; someone that can figure out a solution when one does not immediately present itself
Ability to apply effective communication and motivational techniques in supervising and counseling subordinates; must coach and/or mentor staff;
Experience in produce environment considered an asset;
Valid drivers license;
Ability to lift up to 50lbs;
Excellent interpersonal and team work skills;
Outstanding planning and organizing skills;
Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
Familiarity with personal computers and materials handling equipment is essential.
