What will you do as a Tank Project Manager
This position supports the operation of the Company by independently overseeing a portfolio of up to 25 Tank Maintenance Projects a year which is a large part of the Sustaining CapEx Projects Portfolio of the US Southern Region.

What do we expect from you as a Tank Project Manager
Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) as required by the Maritime Transportation Security Act.
4 year college degree in Engineering or similar technical field required.
API 653 certification is preferred.
2-5 years Project Engineering and/or experience with construction projects required.
2 Years project experience managing a Tank Maintenance Program with many simultaneous tanks is highly preferred.
Engineering experience at a tank terminal petroleum or chemical plant is highly preferred.
Ability to read engineering construction and other technical specs drawings schematics plans and similar documents; ability to read and understand complex government regulations and translate/incorporate these requirements into terminal construction engineering and maintenance plans.
Ability to translate such technical plans and processes into easy-to-understand laymens terms and communicate such translations in clear terminology.
Working knowledge of computer programs including Google Workspace PDF Editors and other Common Office Computer Applications.
Some familiarity with computer-based design (AutoCAD Navisworks) to be able to review Engineering Packages.
Excellent English communication skills both oral and written; listening skills.
Presentation skills.
What does your day look like
Your core responsibilities are:
Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of SH&E principles and values; champions safety as necessary.
Review and assess API 653 Inspections Results.
Identify corrosion mechanisms corrosion rates and retirement limits for the tanks
With input from the Maintenance Manager and Asset Manager perform Fit-for-Purpose analyses and provide recommendations for tank maintenance and repair to ensure suitable for the next inspection interval.
Develop estimates and input the Tank Maintenance into the 3YMP to support Long Term Planning
Develops Scopes of Work for RFPs reviews proposals and evaluate bids for the API Maintenance of the Tank and ATG/OP and Tank Manifold Piping
Enter requisitions in Oracle and facilitate with A/P proper approval of invoices and billing
Independently researches and incorporates best practices into all technical aspects of assigned projects
Works with the team to prepare and deliver technical support presentations to support project funding or project reporting
Develops or oversees the development and maintaining/updating tank schedules progress reports and ensuring alignment and communication with external departments (e.g. Operations and Commercial)
Monitors and reports on KPIs for tank maintenance and turnaround to track metrics for the terminal and against global peers
Follows the Management of Change (MOC) process including providing redlines of modifications for tanks P&IDs.
Assists colleagues in ensuring allocation of necessary resources to support project portfolio and other terminal needs
Through accurate reporting on assigned projects assists in monitoring coordinating and controlling overall annual CapEx expenditure and capital budgets for Sustaining CapEx projects. Works with Asset Manager to facilitate execution and prioritization of projects part of the U.S. Southern Region Sustaining CapEx portfolio.
Supports in maintaining terminal records transferring and following established document control procedures for all project documentation.
Ensures transfer of project information is communicated to other departments (e.g. Operations and Maintenance as appropriate)
Ensures required internal approvals are obtained at appropriate stages of project
Assists sales and terminal personnel in assessing customer project scopes for small customer service projects
Continuous learner in Vopak Project Management Vopak Standards and Specs Local Engineering Practices and other Federal Regulations(e.g. RCRA and Environmental requirements) so as to follow and adhere to all guidelines regulations and requirements in the course of other duties
Ensures that all assigned projects are in compliance with Company and regulatory requirements
Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position
Some travel (<20%) to Corpus Christi site is required for project support; may be opportunities for international travel
Work Environment
This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 104F (40C) and some exposure to cold of generally no less than 15F (-10C) in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds including fumes and smells some of them hazardous. The employee may enter confined spaces and work in elevated environments. Employees must be able to wear PPE required by the location. General office noise may be experienced and louder sounds and vibrations when outside. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk sit speak and hear. The employee is required to stand use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required on occasion to climb or balance stoop kneel or crouch. The employee may be required to climb ladders/storage tanks up to 50 in height. The employee may be required to enter confined spaces. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employees may be required to travel by air rail bus or car.
