PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To facilitate the implementation of the Bilingual/ESL programs LPAC process and procedures maintain all proper documents and parental engagement as related to for all English Language Learners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read write and understand both English and Spanish
Clerical/secretarial skills
Ability to use multi-line telephone
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets databases and do work processing
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Effective organizational interpersonal and communication skills
Experience:
One year clerical or secretarial experience preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintains all Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) documents that belong in the students cumulative records such as: Bilingual/English as a Second Language program Permission Letter English/Spanish Oral Language Proficiency Test (OLPT) student assessment data and end of year review information.
- Follows required processes according to the LPAC manual for identification placement and review of all students in the Bilingual/ESL programs within PEIMS and district timelines.
- Compiles data in order to prepare the LPAC forms. This includes state and local assessment data and Teacher Recommendations.
- Collaborates with the PEIMS clerk to assure accurate coding of Bilingual/ESL students.
- Meets with LPAC Administrator and members regularly: Presenting to the LPAC members the complete LPAC forms for their review and decision.
- Records data on LPAC data system in order to determine which students will enter re-enter remain or exit from the Bilingual/ESL program.
- Creates lists on Excel of all Bilingual/ESL documents and information on students that are participating in the program.
- Administers the OLPT Test in English and Spanish.
- Keeps close contact with all Bilingual/ESL teachers and making available to them all LPAC and assessment information of English Language Learns (ELL).
- Collaborates with Campus LPAC Administrator Testing Coordinator and Bilingual Department to ensure accurate student data for all decision-making processes.
- Attends mandatory staff development activities as needed to perform job functions and to improve performance.
- Hosts and/or conducts meetings and/or presentations from ELL students parents.
- Prints and verifies PEIMS LEP coding with administration every six/nine weeks.
- Ensures compliance with local state and federal law governing ELLs.
- Maintains a professional level of confidentiality concerning personnel and students.
- Other appropriate duties as assigned by the campus principal Secondary Director and Bilingual Director as related to the program.

Works with frequent interruptions; ability to answer constant incoming calls; repetitive hand motions prolonged use of computer; some bending lifting and stooping while performing job related functions.
