GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


The position of Senior Investment Officer will support the State Treasurers Offices $32 billion investment program. This position will report to the Chief Investment Officer. The Treasurers Office invests in various asset classes including equities fixed income and alternatives. Although investing knowledge and experience are important a premium will be placed on applicants historical performance records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.


  • Evaluate core real estate non-core real estate and infrastructure managers including developing financial models evaluating diligence materials engaging with experts/consultants and understanding company-specific research and analysis.
  • Understand core real estate non-core real estate and infrastructure managers performance versus peer group and relative index/indices. This includes understanding the opportunity set and when certain sectors do well or underperform.
  • Work with the Chief Investment Officer and investment staff overseeing the States $32 billion portfolio.
  • Underwrite co-investment opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with peers and managers.
  • Assist in identifying overall and portfolio-specific risk. Develop strategies to monitor and control risk.
  • Prepare regular ad hoc performance/risk reports and present to boards.

Qualifications


PREFERENCES:


Preference may be given to those with a masters degree or a Ph.D and/or a CFA.
Preference will be given to those with 5 years of managing a portfolio with a certifiable track record of alpha production in the related field.

  • This position is At-Will and is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the CIO.
