Outreach Specialist Forensic Health

Work location: 612 E Lamar blvd Arlington Texas 76011 and will travel within 5 counties
Work hours: Full time (36 hours) Monday Friday from 8am 5p with some Saturdays

Heres What You Need
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Successful completion of a Community Health Worker formal training program such as from a community college or education institute preferred
6 months customer service experience and/or public speaking experience
What You Will Do
The Forensic Health Services Outreach Specialist serves as a community educator providing awareness and prevention activities/presentations related to interpersonal violence such as but not limited to: Sexual Assault Consent Intimate Partner Violence Family Violence Child Abuse Child Sexual Abuse Other Violence between Family Members Sex and Labor Trafficking Elder Abuse Workplace Violence.
This role partners with local schools colleges/universities faith communities and other community partners to provide educational activities that target increased knowledge about the dynamics and long-term effects of violence on ones health and the community. The role with assistance of the Forensic Healthcare & Violence Intervention Department leadership team will create materials designed for awareness and education that are specific and appropriate for various ages and audience groups.
This is a grant funded position and subject to the award and continuation of the contract.
Support Outreach Education
Collaborate with director & managers to develop appropriate community education presentations.
Participate in the delivery of community education presentations.
Participate in building and meeting department goals related to community education.
Manage educational program timelines to ensure timely completion of program deliverables.
Evaluate effectiveness of educational activities for increased knowledge.
Report project outcomes.
Remain abreast of relevant best practices research resources and initiatives related to interpersonal violence.
Community Partnership & Collaboration
Identify and establish relationships with community stakeholders organizations and advocacy agencies.
Identify strategic partnership opportunities to leverage outreach capabilities.
Serve as a liaison for both internal and external stakeholders.
Continue to build and enhance shares information education and resources among community partners.
