Job Summary

Role Summary:

The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will oversee all Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) aspects of engineering related to dry vacuum pump and liquid ring pump/compressor systems to ensure all project objectives including safety technical correctness budget and schedule are met.

Responsibilities:

Review and interpret electrical and instrumentation specifications ensuring global standards and safety codes are adhered to.
Development of electrical schematics BOMs control panel drawings junction boxes and ladder logic diagrams.
Review and approve electrical designs including drawings and BOMs.
Direct designers and technicians from conceptual design through production and testing.
Interface with other engineering disciplines and other departments including purchasing QA and production.
Assist in developing control narratives or sequences of operations.
Review quotations and proposals from vendors.
Provide input for electrical instrumentation and controls sections of the IOM manuals for end users.

Requirements / Skills:

Degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial electrical design preferably chemical oil & gas sectors.
Knowledge of instrumentation including control valves flow meters transmitters (pressure temperature and level) electrical and controls.
Knowledge of process piping systems and associated equipment including liquid pumps motors heat exchangers and pressure vessels.
Versed on the relevant national and international standards as they apply to electrical instrumentation and controls.
Working knowledge of NEC NFPA CSA FM and UL. P&IDs process flow diagrams electrical schematics ladder logic diagrams.
E-Plan Microsoft Office AutoCAD fieldbus topology.
Demonstrated experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
Basic knowledge of information technology tools including Windows Microsoft Office products and other related tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to apply technology to creatively solve problems that meet business and stakeholder needs.
Flexible concerning working hours & willing to travel for planned visits or to overcome unexpected issues (up to 15%) if any.
Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams with culturally diverse membership.
Ability to work without close supervision and accomplish assignments of high quality and on time.
Strong oral and written English communication skills.
