Job Summary

This position is within the Tolling Services team of Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Hungary. The team consists of IT professionals specializing in electronic road-charging solutions. Together with our partners we develop and operate intelligent kilometer-based tolling systems for international customers covering the entire business process (vehicle registrations country booking providing On-Board Units position data transmission charge calculation and fleet billing). Leveraging digital intelligence and advanced technology our tolling solutions facilitate seamless mobility across Europe. The team aims to enhance existing services and expand into new domains. As part of an international team collaborating with T-Systems International you will play a key role in supporting our customers with cutting-edge tolling solutions.

As a Network Engineer you will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining secure and scalable infrastructure. Your role will involve collaborating with development operations and security teams to ensure that our systems are resilient performant and secure. You will leverage your deep understanding of network architecture and security best practices to protect our assets and ensure seamless service delivery.

Main tasks

As a Network Engineer your will:

  • Design deploy and manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure with a focus on network security and resilience.
  • Implement and maintain secure networking configurations including firewalls VPNs load balancers and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
  • Collaborate with the security team to conduct regular security assessments vulnerability scans and penetration tests to identify and address potential risks.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning configuration management and monitoring.
  • Implement and manage security measures such as encryption access controls and compliance frameworks to safeguard sensitive data and systems.
  • Monitor network performance troubleshoot issues and optimize infrastructure to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines with a strong focus on security ensuring that all deployments meet stringent security standards.
  • Work closely with development teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Provide on-call support for production environments responding to security incidents and network-related issues promptly.
  • Stay updated with the latest security threats technologies and best practices to continuously improve our infrastructures security posture.

Qualifications :

Background and required skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 years of experience in Network Engineering or similar role with a strong focus on network and security engineering.
  • Proficiency in network architecture including experience with firewalls VPNs load balancers and IDS/IPS.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices including encryption identity and access management (IAM) and incident response.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Familiarity with security tools like SIEM vulnerability scanners and penetration testing tools.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages like Python Bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus Grafana or Splunk.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Advantage:

  • Security certifications such as CISSP CEH or AWS Certified Security Specialty.
  • Experience with security compliance standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001 SOC 2 GDPR or HIPAA.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with zero-trust architecture and microsegmentation.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
