Job Description
Utility Driver/Maintenance Technician
Transportation Department
12 month position
Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the repair shop. Organizes and replenishes supplies cleans transportation grounds and facilities and performs minor repairs when needed. Monitors the fluid levels in all District transportation vehicles.
Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Requires 0 to 2 years of job-related prior experience.
- Current CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements for school bus driving responsibilities.
Essential Job Functions include the following:
- Monitors and documents fluid levels of school buses and service vehicles; refills as needed.
- Monitors and documents fuel levels of school buses and service vehicles; refills as needed.
- Assists mechanics with minor vehicle repair.
- Cleans school buses and other District transportation vehicles.
- Delivers receives and stocks supplies and parts; monitors inventory and maintains sufficient stock of cleaning and repair supplies.
- Cleans and organizes repair shop storage areas and transportation facilities.
- Performs summer work list assignment.
- Performs minor building maintenance and repairs.
- Serves as a substitute bus driver as needed.
COMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED 2025-2026 Classified Salary Schedule
