Bartelt Packaging is searching for a talented Fabricator to join our team. As a Fabricator you will perform a variety of operations to layout and fabricates a diversified line of metallic and non-metallic parts for Bartelt Packaging machines. This position reports to the Machining & Fabrication Supervisor.
Does this work interest you
- Layout and fabricate a diversified line of products using a variety of machines and equipment including CNC machines milling press brakes shears and welding equipment.
- Receives work order from Production control. Estimates time and material for fabrication work orders.
- Studies blueprints sketches drawings manuals specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Sets up and operates CNC machines sheet metal fabricating and forming machines to produce parts in accordance with specifications; conducts trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Measures marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
- Selects aligns and secures holding fixtures cutting tools attachments accessories and materials on machines such as bend brakes punches mills and routers.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Perform assembly work which may involve fitting spot welding riveting etc.
- Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms machines and equipment and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
- Confers with engineers production personnel programmers or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and technical certificate in welding or machining; more than five years related fabrication experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
