Job Description

Lady Gowrie is seeking Team Leaders to join our John Paul II (Rokeby) St Thereses (Moonah) and Lansdowne (West Hobart) Outside School Hours Care Services. This is your opportunity to support a dedicated team to deliver a quality play-based program for childrens development in Outside of School Hours Care.

We are a not-for-profit community-based organisation providing education and care to children from birth to 12 years of age across Tasmania. Lady Gowrie Tasmania has a simple position statement Children First and is committed to providing the highest quality education and care for children to give them the best start in life. We work in partnerships with families early to middle childhood professionals and the broader community to ensure children are happy healthy and develop a love of learning. The role:

  • Education and Care Practitioner role with an additional Team Leader Allowance
  • Part time minimum 15 hours per week
  • Outside of School Hours Care

In this role you will:

  • Act as the Responsible Person in accordance with National Law and Regulations taking day-to-day charge of the service.
  • Lead and mentor educators to deliver tailored quality play-based programs.
  • Maintain a safe inclusive environment meeting all legal and regulatory obligations as well as NQF and LGT requirements.
  • Uphold Child Safe standards and meet Mandatory Reporting Obligations
  • Oversee daily operations staff supervision and family engagement

What youll bring:

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment with a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Strong capability to develop and maintain respectful relationship with children families and staff.
  • Excellent communication skills that are open and effective across diverse audience.
  • Leadership capability to guide and support a small team effectively.
  • Hold and maintain Tasmanian Registration of Working with vulnerable People (Child related activity)
  • ACECQA-approved First Aid qualifications Child Safety Training & Food Safety Training (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) or child related activities
  • Ability to undertake the role of Responsible Person including knowledge of the National Quality Framework and effective supervision and management of staff families and other stakeholders
  • Certificate III Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care (desirable)
