Job Description

Overview

The Assistant Controller is a knowledgeable accounting professional with experience in varied contract structures and must be able to work in a high volume fast paced environment while providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

  • 5 years progressive professional experience
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of construction industry financial practices and forms preferred

Responsibilities

  • Must demonstrate and model Zolmans core values.
  • Prepares month end financial statements and schedules
  • Prepares and files required state and local sales/use tax privilege tax and other returns
  • Files required state annual reports and personal property tax returns
  • Prepares various monthly reconciliations and reports as assigned by the VP of Finance
  • Communicates activities results and observations with team members management clients and trade partners as appropriate
  • Assists with processing of accounts payable invoices for payment
  • Identifies and records appropriate related party allocation for payroll and G&A expenses on a monthly basis
  • Prepares all trade partner payments per approved pay sheets and produces applicable waivers
  • Coordinates with department managers and commercial/retail divisions to create annual budget
  • Updates monthly projections to reflect changes in spending policies or new information
