Job Description

Estimator Heavy Civil
Location: Phoenix AZ
Relocation Assistance Avail.
Salary: $100000 - $140000 (DOE)

Purpose

Review blueprints specifications and proposals to prepare accurate time cost and labor estimates for projects while ensuring cost efficiency and supporting successful bids. Experience with estimating on heavy civil projects - specifically highway roadway or water wastewater projects.
Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze project documents to prepare detailed cost material and labor estimates.
  • Track actual costs vs. bids; recommend adjustments and cost-saving measures.
  • Collaborate with engineers owners contractors and vendors to resolve estimate issues.
  • Prepare itemized lists bids and proposals for management and client use.
  • Conduct site visits before bids and during construction.
  • Support long-term planning and business development efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors in Construction or Civil Engineering preferred.
  • 5 years of estimating or related experience.
  • Strong math blueprint reading and construction knowledge.
  • Skilled in proposal development cost analysis and vendor selection.
  • Excellent communication organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with construction methodologies equipment and government requirements.
  • Valid drivers license; for company vehicle.
