Job Description
Key responsibilities and AccountabilitiesAs a member of the Platform Development team build the tools that evolve our Azure cloud infrastructure in a safe reliable automated and cost-effective manner enabling our proprietary technology development teams to have the best possible development experienceProvide expertise and input in to the design and implementation of IaC automation to serve the needs of our application hosting with particular focus on consistency security and developer enablementParticipate in planning efforts with stakeholders and IT departmentHelp define and enforce security guidelines for engineering workOn failure events work on fixing the issues and communicating with senior members of the teamWork as part of a small team and successfully manage your own tasks according to the larger needs of the businessSkills and AbilityGood understanding of database concepts and managementExperience with containers Kubernetes service mesh orchestration is a plusGood understanding of Azure Platform Engineering especially in relation to automation and yaml pipelinesExcellent understanding of DevOps-centric conceptsGood general infrastructure knowledge including networking basicsGood general development skillsKnowledge and ExperienceEnterprise experience of AzureExcellent understanding of SDLC best practisesExcellent understanding of Infrastructure as Code Desired State Configuration Terraform Ansible etcAdvanced level of experience using command line scripting tools such as Azure CLI Bash and PowershellA relevant degree with IT Technology or equivalent professional certifications
