Lead Data Architect

As the Data Architecture Manager youll be instrumental in leading and scaling TVHs data architecture capabilities. Youll manage a team of talented data architects guiding them in designing implementing and optimizing robust scalable and secure enterprise data solutions. Beyond direct team leadership this role requires a strategic vision for TVHs overall data landscape translating complex business objectives into clear architectural roadmaps. Youll be responsible for fostering a culture of technical excellence collaboration and continuous improvement within your team ensuring that our data architecture effectively supports current and future business needs while adhering to best practices in data governance security and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead mentor and manage a team of data architects including performance reviews career development and fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.

• Drive the recruitment and onboarding of new talent to scale the data architecture team effectively.

• Establish clear team goals priorities and work plans ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Enterprise Data Architecture & Strategy

• Define and drive the strategic roadmap for TVHs enterprise data architecture encompassing data warehousing data lakes streaming platforms and integration patterns.

• Partner with senior leadership to translate business strategy into architectural vision and actionable plans.

• Evaluate and champion the adoption of new data technologies tools and platforms to enhance data capabilities and drive innovation across the organization.

Architectural Governance & Standards

• Establish and enforce architectural principles standards patterns and best practices for data design integration and management.

• Oversee and approve architectural designs for major data initiatives ensuring consistency scalability security and adherence to governance policies.

• Drive the standardization of data definitions metadata management and data dictionaries across the enterprise.

Data Governance & Compliance

• Collaborate with data governance teams to define and implement robust policies for data quality privacy security (including access controls and encryption) and regulatory compliance (e.g. GDPR CCPA).

• Ensure architectural designs support data lifecycle management retention and auditability.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Serve as a key liaison and trusted advisor to business leaders product managers data scientists and engineering teams translating strategic needs into architectural solutions.

• Champion data architecture initiatives across the organization effectively communicating complex concepts and decisions to diverse audiences.

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure architectural alignment and successful solution delivery.

Project Oversight & Delivery

• Provide architectural oversight and guidance for major data-intensive projects ensuring designs are robust scalable and delivered efficiently.

• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies advising on their potential impact and opportunities for TVH.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Data Engineering Information Systems or a related quantitative field.

• 10 years of progressive experience in data engineering and data architecture with at least 4 years in a leadership or management role overseeing a team of architects or senior engineers.

• Proven track record of successfully leading the design and implementation of large-scale complex enterprise data architectures (e.g. modern data warehouses data lakes real-time streaming platforms).

• Deep expertise in data modeling (dimensional relational NoSQL) and database design principles.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with enterprise-grade programming languages (e.g. Python Java Scala).

• Extensive experience with cloud data platforms (preferably GCP) and their comprehensive suite of data services.

• In-depth understanding of data governance data quality metadata management and data security best practices.

• Demonstrated ability to lead mentor and develop a high-performing technical team.

• Exceptional strategic thinking analytical problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and strategic visions clearly to all levels of the organization.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DataOps principles and automating architectural deployments and management.

• Familiarity with data mesh or data fabric architectural patterns.

• Knowledge of MLOps and data science pipelines from an architectural and governance perspective.

• Certifications in relevant cloud data platforms (e.g. Google Professional Data Engineer AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional).

• Experience with advanced data processing frameworks (e.g. Spark Flink).

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) in a data context.
