Job Description

Supply Library Technicians


Salary: $24.25 per hour 4% vacation pay

Location:Schools within the Halton District School Board
(Burlington Oakville Milton Georgetown Acton)

Work Schedule:12 months/year as required

Effective Date:As Soon As Possible

Position Summary:

Supply library technician staff work on an as needed basis filling in for staff who are away or on leave and vacancies within our elementary and/or secondary schools or the administrative Board offices.

Qualifications:

Supply Library Technician positionsrequire a Library and Information Technician Diploma from a post-secondary institution plus related experience (or working towards)


Also required are:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Expertise in the use of computer technology (e.g. word processing email spreadsheet and internet applications including Google Suite)
  • Knowledge of standard library techniques (e.g. use of digital library resources Dewey classification readers advisory resource repair)
