The Sustaining Engineering Manager will lead the engineering support and product data management processes for Busbar products in an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) environment. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective processes and systems for managing product design data supporting the transition from development into production and ensuring ongoing product improvement and manufacturability.
This role will serve as the primary engineering point of contact for production issues driving the timely resolution of engineering-related issues.
This position will be responsible for establishing the connection between SolidWorks PDM and Oracle Product Development Cloud ensuring that engineering design data is effectively organized governed and accessible. While this position collaborates closely with Supply Chain and Operations its scope is focused on engineering systems and product data. Busbar products are highly customized requiring a strong global engineering process discipline across multiple factory locations and cross-functional coordination. This position is ideal for candidates seeking a dynamic environment combining product data management global design support and engineering leadership
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and mentor the sustaining engineering team responsible for resolving production issues and providing factory support for Busbar products.
Develop implement and continuously improve engineering release processes change management procedures and product sustainment frameworks.
Oversee the integration maintenance and governance of product design data in SolidWorks PDM and Oracle Product Development Cloud.
Support operations by ensuring complete and accurate engineering definitions including Bills of Materials (BOMs) drawings and specifications.
Manage the implementation of design changes and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) ensuring data integrity across engineering systems.
Provide design support and technical guidance for issues identified during production activities (limited to engineering scope).
Drive improvements in Design for Manufacturability Quality and Efficiency from the engineering perspective.
Develop and enforce standards and best practices for product data governance within the Busbar engineering function.
Serve as the primary point of contact for engineering sustaining activities related to Busbar products.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
7 years of experience in sustaining engineering product design manufacturing support or a related discipline.
Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drafting (SolidWorks preferred).
Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and driving process improvements within the engineering function.
Working knowledge of Lean methodologies as applied to engineering processes.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
