Job Description

Nurse Consultant Clinical Governance
Salary Band $126000 - $138000 p.a. pro-rata Kiwisaver

  • Dunedin district
  • Career progression opportunity for Senior Nurse with interest in Clinical Governance
  • 1.0 FTE / 80 hours per fortnight permanent vacancy

About the role
The Primary Purpose/Objectives of the role are as follows:

  1. To increase the effectiveness and safety of patient and whnau care delivery by leading developing and supporting improvement initiatives or projects as agreed with the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer (CNMO)
  2. To work alongside the Directors of Nursing under the delegation of the CNMO to provide professional nursing leadership using a Clinical Governance framework to ensure clinical care standards are high.
  3. To apply expert nursing clinical experience knowledge and skills to identify improvement opportunities and provide solutions to systemic problems to reduce harms improve patient outcomes and improve efficiency.
  4. To contribute to building organisational capacity and capability in quality improvement skills
  5. To engage with the wider multidisciplinary and patient safety teams to ensure a consistent and joined up approach to clinical governance fostering collegial interprofessional relationships and whole of system thinking.

Salary range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the Designated Senior Nurse Pay Scale Grade 4 between $126124 and $138057 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
