Job Description

Commercial Service Project Manager
Function:
The Commercial Service Project Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the assigned projects. With the Operations Manager will determine performance standards for use in training and evaluating departmental co-workers.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that mandatory profit and growth goals are being met or exceeded.
  • Plan coordinate and direct the overall operations of the assigned projects according to company standards.
  • Ensure that local and state codes are being met.
  • Monitor site safety and identify potential risks and minimize disruptions.
  • Maintain positive communications with customers and field.
  • Maintain Key Performance Indicators as laid out by construction team.
  • Maintain appropriate contract documents such as submittal logs RFIs Change Order requests and profitably transition extra work into change orders.
  • Insure the installations meet the intent of the contract and perform to the project budget.
  • Take full responsibility for the successful and profitable outcome of your assigned projects.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Track monthly gross margin contributions of the Commercial Service Department by means of accounting information and reports to the CFO.
  • Understand and utilize the company reporting systems to keep accurate records of material and equipment usage.
  • Actively support departmental co-workers on company safety standards and ensure all safety rules are being followed.
  • Approve all change orders as they come in for accuracy and completion.
  • Work with the Sales team to assist them with technical questions and applications.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules plans specifications contracts submittals operating and maintenance manuals/instructions procedure manuals and job budgets.
  • Must be able to calculate figures and amounts as required for both paperwork and formulas relating to job function.
  • Ability to work efficiently given time pressures heavy workload requirements weather varying customer needs and demands and back log constraints.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires bending stooping and standing.
  • Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day. (Overtime may extend time period.)
  • Must be able to handle heavy objects such as ladders tools equipment and other items needed to perform job function.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Good visual and spatial perception.
Management retains the discretion to add change or assign other work-related duties or responsibilities of this position at any time.
Commercial HVAC Project Manager Sales position combines project management and sales responsibilities for HVAC systems in commercial buildings. The role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle from initial client engagement and needs assessment to project completion ensuring both technical execution and sales targets are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities with commercial clients.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients understanding their HVAC needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Presenting proposals and negotiating contracts to secure projects.
Project Planning and Execution:
  • Managing all aspects of HVAC projects from initial design and planning to installation and commissioning.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors suppliers and internal teams (technicians engineers).
  • Developing project schedules budgets and resource allocation plans.
  • Ensuring projects are completed on time within budget and to the required quality standards.
Sales and Financial Management:
  • Meeting or exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Managing project costs expenses and profitability.
  • Preparing and submitting sales reports and forecasts.
Technical Expertise:
  • Possessing a strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and technologies.
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Ensuring projects comply with relevant codes regulations and safety standards.
Team Leadership:
  • Leading and motivating HVAC technicians and other team members.
  • Providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in commercial HVAC sales and project management.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems design and installation processes.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Bachelors degree in engineering construction management or related field preferred.
