Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs to ensure compliance with local state federal and ISO regulations.
- Design strategies to continuously improve safety performance and foster a safety culture within the manufacturing site.
- Coordinate and execute corrective and preventative action plans to close any gaps found through internal and external auditing programs.
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing operations. Set and track sustainability goals related to energy consumption waste reduction and resource efficiency.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace and implement measures to control and mitigate identified risks.
- Continuously monitor production activities for adherence to safety practices.
- Create and update safety policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Communicate and train employees on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or related field; or 3 years of related experience.
- Professional certification in EHS (e.g. CSP CIH) is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) certification processes.
- At least 3 years of experience in EHS leadership roles within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of local state and federal EHS regulations environmental compliance sustainability practices and ISO standards.
