Embedded Test Engineer (m/f/d)

Munich-based OroraTech is developing a constellation of nano-satellites with thermal infrared cameras for automated wildfire detection severe weather warnings and many other applications. After our FOREST-1 mission (launched in Jan. 2022) and FOREST-2 (launch in June 2023) the next step is to scale the production launch the first constellation plane of 8 systems and develop our own satellite platform.
We are looking for talented engineers to support us with the design and testing of our newly developed satellite platform. They will be joining a very motivated and highly enthusiastic team of experts in the fields of mechanical optics electronics spacecraft and software engineering.

As an Embedded Test Engineer you own the test infrastructure for our satellite and satellite payload batch this role you will

• work closely with software and hardware engineers to develop test plans

• evaluate test frameworks for scalable testing in multiple setups and scenarios

• write system and component tests in Python and Bash

• produce traceable and understandable automatic test reports

• support the production engineers with creation of new test setups

• interface with the experts of software electronics structure and optics engineering

• Structured programming (mostly Python and Bash) with Git testing frameworks CI/CD

• Immerse yourself in complex C/C code projects

• Read and understand electrical schematics

• Experience with embedded hardware setups

• Methodic debugging with software and hardware in mind

• Passion for automation and documentation
