Job Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for generating and managing business opportunities for the hotel through direct sales relationship building and targeted marketing strategies. This role involves identifying new markets establishing relationships with clients and ensuring that hotel revenue goals are met. The Sales Manager works closely with the sales team marketing department and hotel management to maximize revenue through corporate group and transient business.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Identify target and develop new business opportunities to drive hotel revenue including corporate clients group bookings conferences and transient business.
    • Manage and grow relationships with existing clients ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
    • Generate leads develop proposals and close deals for group bookings meetings and events.
    • Conduct sales calls presentations and property tours to potential clients.
    • Develop and maintain a database of clients and potential business leads tracking communication and sales efforts.
  • Revenue Generation & Strategy:
    • Work closely with the Director of Sales and management team to develop and execute sales strategies that align with the hotels goals and revenue targets.
    • Monitor and evaluate sales performance to ensure revenue objectives are met and adjust strategies as necessary.
    • Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to maximize room sales optimize rates and ensure inventory is appropriately allocated to different markets.
    • Participate in pricing strategies negotiating contracts and setting promotional pricing for various segments.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients including corporate accounts event planners travel agencies and group coordinators.
    • Attend client meetings trade shows and industry events to strengthen client relationships and generate new business opportunities.
    • Handle client complaints and special requests ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the booking and event execution process.
  • Marketing & Promotion:
    • Collaborate with the marketing department to develop and execute campaigns promotions and special offers that attract new business and retain existing clients.
    • Assist in creating and distributing marketing materials including brochures newsletters and digital content to increase hotel visibility in the marketplace.
    • Monitor competitor activity market trends and customer preferences to ensure the hotel remains competitive in the market.
  • Reporting & Administrative Duties:
    • Prepare weekly monthly and quarterly sales reports tracking progress against sales goals and performance metrics.
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities client communication contracts and bookings in the CRM system.
    • Manage the sales pipeline from initial inquiry to contract execution and event fulfillment.
    • Work with the hotel operations team to ensure that all client expectations and special requests are met during their stay or event.
  • Team Collaboration & Support:
    • Collaborate with other departments (operations catering front desk etc.) to ensure a seamless guest experience and the successful execution of events and meetings.
    • Support the sales team by sharing leads insights and best practices to maximize the teams success.
    • Participate in team meetings training and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelors degree in Business Hospitality Management Marketing or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience preferably in the hospitality industry.
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and goals.
    • Experience with CRM systems and hotel property management systems (PMS) is a plus.
    • Knowledge of the local market and hotel industry trends.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Excellent sales negotiation and communication skills.
    • Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
    • Ability to analyze data interpret reports and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Personal Characteristics:

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and priorities.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work at a desk for extended periods and use a computer for data entry email communication and report preparation.
  • Ability to travel for client meetings events and industry functions.
  • Occasional lifting of marketing materials or event supplies (up to 25lbs).
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.
