Under the leadership of Department Chair Dr. Heakyung Kim PM&R at UT Southwestern delivers world-class care at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital Parkland Memorial Hospital and affiliated outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will thrive in an academic environment providing exemplary patient care while educating and mentoring the next generation of rehabilitation physicians. As part of one of the largest PM&R residency training programs in the United States the faculty member will have the opportunity to work closely with residents fellows and medical students in a collaborative multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications
Education: MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent)
Board Certification: ABPMR Board certified or eligible
Licensure: Eligible for Texas medical licensure (must acquire prior to employment)
Demonstrated clinical excellence in inpatient outpatient and/or procedural rehabilitation medicine
Commitment to the academic mission including education mentorship and scholarly contribution
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
record of scholarly activity in clinical research quality improvement or program development (commensurate with career stage)
Role Responsibilities and Duties
Clinical Care Responsibilities
UT Southwestern seeks an outstanding clinician to provide exemplary evidence-based patient care in assigned inpatient outpatient and/or procedural settings achieving clinical productivity in alignment with departmental and national benchmarks. This role offers the opportunity to care for a diverse complex patient population working in state-of-the-art facilities alongside a multidisciplinary team of experts. Responsibilities include comprehensive evaluation diagnosis and management of individuals with complex rehabilitation needs; active participation in collaborative care planning; and consistent demonstration of clinical excellence professionalism and innovation. All clinical services are expected to meet the highest standards of quality safety patient experience and operational efficiency with meticulous documentation in accordance with institutional regulatory and payer requirements.
Research and Scholarly Responsibilities
As a Clinical Scholar at UT Southwestern the selected candidate will advance the science and practice of rehabilitation medicine through impactful scholarly work. Opportunities exist to lead original clinical research quality improvement initiatives and program development projects that influence patient care locally and nationally. Faculty are encouraged to publish in high-impact journals present at leading scientific meetings and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and care pathways. Engagement in collaborative grant-supported research specialty registries and interdisciplinary innovation is supported and expected with the goal of enhancing the departments academic reputation driving discovery and translating evidence into practice. This role offers the resources mentorship and institutional support necessary to build a national profile while directly improving the lives of patients.
