The Lead Clinical (Stroke Program) leverages their extensive understanding of the health care system and clinical experience to lead design plan and execute provincial initiatives aimed at improving the quality of cardiac stroke and vascular care for patients in Ontario. This role involves interaction with key internal teams external partners and clinical and administrative stakeholders to develop plans and deliverables that support business priorities.
There are 2 positions available for the Stroke Program
Here is what you will be doing:
Leadership and Engagement:Lead and manage engagement with diverse groups of clinical providers health system administrators regional partners funders and other key stakeholders to support clinical co-design planning and implementation of multi-year initiatives. Collaborate with OH teams to align with broader strategic Acute and Hospital Based Care initiatives and support health system planning activities performance measurement and reporting.
Advisory Committees:Lead external advisory committees and task groups to advance the delivery and quality of CorHealths initiatives. Actively engage with provincial/regional advisory bodies MOH and subject matter experts to provide strategic advice and thought leadership.
Clinical Expertise:Provide internal and external leadership and advice as a clinical SME in cardiac stroke or vascular care. Develop clinical requirements pathways tools or resources to support best practice care planning funding and/or health care policy.
Relationship Building:Develop relationships with colleagues within the team across the organization and externally to understand best practices issues and improvement. Share information and aid in understanding system challenges and opportunities.
Patient Engagement:Leverage clinical experience to inform patient engagement strategies and perspectives that advance patient outcomes.
Communication:Prepare reports briefings and presentations using excellent written verbal and graphical communication skills to express complex concepts effectively to various audiences.
Integrity and Leadership:Demonstrate leadership and integrity in interactions with internal and external stakeholders including governmental non-governmental and non-for-profit organizations (e.g. Ministry of Health Heart and Stroke Foundation).
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in health system related discipline Masters Degree in health-related field an asset
Prior experience as a regulated health professional required (i.e. Physiotherapist Registered Nurse Occupational Therapist etc.).
Active membership with a regulated health professional college considered an asset
7 years of relevant work experience
Experience in health system strategy planning and leading/ enabling implementation of multi-year strategic projects
Experience in developing best practice guidance health system improvement initiatives reports and/ or evaluations
Experience implementing programs/ projects in complex clinical environments
Knowledge and Skills
A strong understanding of Ontarios health care system as well as extensive experience in the clinical setting
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with demonstrated experience engaging and building relationships with health care leaders health service providers and other key stakeholders
Proven ability to establish positive working relationships; and must be team-oriented possess a positive attitude and work well with a broad network of teams individuals and stakeholders
Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving abilities to mange complex problems and inform CorHealth leadership of potential issues and associated solutions.
A novel thinker who enjoys generating and exploring innovative ideas and solutions
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy
Demonstrated initiative and independence to take appropriate action and anticipate organizational needs
Ability to seek and weigh opinions and evidence compromising where necessary on ways and means but not on principles or goals

Capacity to work effectively in a rapid-pace work environment
Ability to complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner with high-quality results
