Status: Full-time Exempt
Schedule: 37.5 hrs/week M-F 8.30 a.m. 4.30 p.m including occasional evening and weekend work based on seasonal business needs/position requirements.
Note: This is an exempt position and due to the time difference between Chicago and the Centers there may be a need to work outside of core hours. Early morning or late evening hours may be necessary on occasion.

Summary of Position
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for STEM Outreach and Engagement is a senior-level role in the Office of the Provost dedicated to advancing institutional priorities in STEM outreach and engagement. This position is focused on building and strengthening relationships with schools colleges/universities community organizations and external partners to expand opportunities in STEM for students. The AVP will serve as a strategic connector fostering effective collaboration across internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of outreach and engagement initiatives and long-term impact.
Essential Job Responsibilities & Duties:
Strategic Advising: Provide leadership and insight to support design and implementation of initiatives that broaden STEM engagement and align with institutional and departmental priorities.
College & External Relations: Strengthen relationships with new and potential consortium schools international colleges and universities industry partners and other organizations to support the building of STEM pipeline and outreach. Ensure coordination and alignment and transparent communications with other IES department involved in developing and managing partner and institutional relations.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work across IES departments to promote alignment and integration of STEM outreach and engagement intiatives; ensure consistent communication and collaboration across teams.
Evaluation & Impact: Assess existing outreach and engagement practices propose new and modified approaches in order to realize ambitious goals set for STEM enrollments at IES. Continuously analyze outcomes provide data-driven recommendations for improving effectiveness and sustainability of STEM programming globally.
Resource Development: Identify cultivate and leverage partnerships to support sustainable growth of outreach and engagement efforts in support of STEM initiatives.
Capacity-Building: Advise and train internal staff responsible for outreach and engagement initiatives.
Additional:
Periodic travel related to the socialization and marketing of STEM programs including strategic campus visits conference attendance and presentations.
Maintain strong working relationships with top sending institutions.
Any other task or duty as assigned or required.
Experience & Qualifications/Skills:
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible non-profit or higher education experience in college relations or recruiting
Tangible evidence of successfully managing a major initiative in higher education including driving enrollments and successfully marketing new programs
Broad knowledge of U.S. higher education and international education
Experience living working or conducting research abroad for an extended time is preferred
Exceptional strategic thinking and management skills
Outstanding analytical ability
Significant experience working broadly from the strategic/conceptual level to the actual implementation of strategic initiatives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working across cultures
Ability to engage all stakeholders
Education Licenses and/or Certifications:
Bachelors degree required; Masters preferred

$160000- $175000
