SALARY: $20.00/Hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking aPart-Time Laboratory Technicianto support our global breeding teams in advancing barley variety improvement for our malting and brewing customers. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented collaborative and eager to contribute to innovative agricultural research. The position can have flexible scheduling for 2026 hours per week. Preferred schedule includes availability Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Friday mornings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform malting and analytical testing on breeding trials from global breeding programs and industry evaluation trials ensuring accurate and timely results.

  • Identify outliers and trends in laboratory data facilitate root cause analysis and ensure the integrity and reliability of reported results.

  • Implement and maintain daily weekly and monthly cleaning protocols to ensure a safe organized and compliant laboratory environment.

  • Review update and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other management documents to support laboratory operations.

  • Prepare samples and perform routine analyses ensuring sample integrity throughout all processes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED some college preferred.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Familiar with wet chemistry laboratory procedures techniques and equipment preferred.

  • Familiarity with laboratory scales and pipetting techniques.

  • Proficient in data entry with experience in using Excel for data entry.Experience with SQL PowerBI Python DataBricks and R is a plus.

  • Malting and brewing knowledge is a plus.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
